THE ROCKET LOCK

The Rocket lock has been specifically designed to provide fast and straightforward deployment by teachers and to be opened by first responders outside the classroom in seconds. A one-motion unlock feature allows for quick and easy egress for classroom occupants. No keys or special tools are needed.  Additionally, it is wheelchair accessible, making it a genuinely inclusive solution for all students and staff members.

Essential Features

Secure Locking Without Exposure

The door can be locked from inside the classroom without needing to open it, eliminating the risk of exposure to an intruder. The device can be activated in less than 10 seconds, ensuring maximum safety with minimal disruption. The quiet locking mechanism prevents drawing unwanted attention.

Effortless Emergency Exit

Emergency exit from the classroom requires no keys, tools, or special knowledge—just a simple pull of the red cable to unlock the bolt from the latch. This one-motion exit ensures a quick and easy escape without confusion or delay.

Universal Accessibility

Designed for ease of use, the door operates without requiring tight grasping or twisting of the wrist, making it accessible for individuals with weak hands. The lock is mounted between 34 and 48 inches above the floor, ensuring usability for individuals of short stature or in wheelchairs.

Secure Yet Accessible from Outside

The classroom door can be unlocked from outside when necessary, allowing authorized personnel to release the lock as needed without compromising safety. First responders can access the room without special tools or keys.

Compliance with Safety Standards

The bottom 10 inches of the door remain unobstructed to prevent wheelchairs from getting caught. There are no floor modifications, trip hazards, or obstructions that could block emergency egress.

Built for Strength & Durability

The screws securing the bolt receiving latch are 2.5 inches long, penetrating studs for reinforced strength. The locking system functions without electricity, batteries, or remote operation, ensuring reliability in all situations.

Where Other Locks Fall Short

There have been many attempts to create ways to secure classroom doors. Some are being used in schools even though they can be dangerous, ineffective, and against building codes and regulations. Guidelines from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are, in some cases, not incorporated into the design or use of Auxiliary Door Locks.
